MYP CLASS 15 | Deducing the Future with Urban Computing

On June 29, the MYP Lecture Series welcomed esteemed speaker Mr. Di Zheng, who received his doctorate in urban planning from Tongji University, and is currently the Chief Investment Officer of Country Garden Group. He shared a rich experience in environmental design, and his personal thoughts on using urban computing to predict future pattern in landscape design and development.

Urban computing is a new field that integrates urban planning, transportation, energy, environment, sociology and economics. It combines ubiquitous perception technology, efficient data management and analysis algorithms, utilizing novel visualization technologies to improve people's quality of life, protect the environment, and promote efficiency of urban resources. Computing helps us understand the nature of various urban phenomena and even predict the future of cities.
