SHANGHAI QIANTAN LEISURE PARK | SHANGHAI
Qiantan Leisure Park, guided by the core design philosophy of "from site to scene," transforms the formerly single-function riverside green space into an immersive parent-child leisure destination. Inspired by the "Recreational Sandbar" concept, it integrates architecture and landscape design to blur spatial boundaries, creating three thematic zones: flowing tidal flats, sensory gardens, and undulating forests. The design preserves the site’s ecological foundation, revitalizes water systems, and introduces innovative elements like pink sand beaches, all-ages play areas, and smart facilities, blending ecological restoration with interactive experiences. Streamlined architectural forms merge with the landscape through ramps and glass curtain walls, enhancing accessibility and visual connectivity, while a clustered layout fosters social engagement.
Post-renovation, the park’s "Barbie Pink Sand Beach" has become a viral attraction, complemented by camping zones and cultural markets, positioning it as a must-visit hotspot along Shanghai’s 45-kilometer waterfront. This revitalization not only activates scarce urban green resources but also redefines the Qiantan international community through eco-friendly design, establishing a poetic yet vibrant "riverside living room" that harmonizes natural beauty with urban energy.
