Though all these rapid developments are good marks, the perfection of each links is to be expected during the finely precipitation and polishments in the future.

In North America, the design is often very humble, pure, steadfast while does not make widely known individually. It doesn't only stick to one pattern, but with bold and innovative temperaments to design.

Landscape design is definitely affected by the local culture, and expresses it through the landscape trait. The design needed to consider which style of design is fit for the area, and do the design and activities set according to its own traits.

This paper introduced the space on the waterfront Bund layout, node design, landscape greening, night scene and other aspects of the design concept. The world trade reconstruction project took human beings’ psychological feelings and public facilities into considerations, and synthesized old urban fabrics with the new with respect, giving space to memory and relax, allowing us to think about life and death. The humanized design effectively sutured the strangeness and alienation among people and space, leading them to witness history and reflect it.

The World Trade Centre used the diversification as the outstanding construction design language. It fully consider the excellent sustainability in the ecological environment perspective, advocating ‘Green Building’ technology. The 9.11 event destroyed the layout of it, and people are all in the sorrow, and the reconstruction of the city represented its historical space transformation and inspire us to think of politics, history and other things.

The traditional engineer orientedhighway development has a great potential dissever the urban fabric and naturalenvironment. The focus of this project is not only to mitigate the potential negative impact on Chongming’s Uniquepattern, but also identify and incorporate the ecological, landscape, cultural,and tourism opportunity in the highway development.

Planning must be forward-looking enough, but if there is a prospective planning without strict implementation management. The Central Park , The High Line Park and Toronto Waterfront inspire us a lot in many ways, such as  the balances between public and private development and the phases and public participations of project construction.

The park is the unique public place, which provides the efficient space for the neighborhood communication and citizen activities. The cases of Vancouver, Montreal and New York tell us that, emphasizing its ecosystems and incorporation of parks and urban development, not only realizing the sustainable effects, but also improving the surroundings’ landscape, and also giving full play to the participation of the citizens in the public activities.

Through the analysis of city styles of Los Angeles, New York and Montreal, we can figure out that the ingrained cultural traditions each city is really the biggest characteristic source. Giving up imitating the monotonous international and modern styles, only in this way can we gradually formed our own unique city characteristics.
