A GREEN HIGHWAY INCORPORATING ECOLOGY AND LANDSCAPE--SHANGHAI CHONGQI CHANNEL ENVIRONMENTAL LANDSCAPE PLANNING

Abstract: The traditional engineer orientedhighway development has a great potential dissever the urban fabric and naturalenvironment. EDAW conducted a creative exploration of how to build a meaningfulecological highway, with a comprehensive team incorporated with landscape, architect, ecological planner, and urban designer. The focus of this project is not only to mitigate the potential negative impact on Chongming’s Uniquepattern, but also identify and incorporate the ecological, landscape, cultural,and tourism opportunity in the highway development.
